Africa – Our 2011 Tanzania Safari

After working in the IT industry for 28 years, I officially retired in January 2011 at age 60. As a retirement gift to ourselves, Lisa and I began planning the trip we’d long dreamed of – an African safari.

After much research, we chose Africa Dream Safaris, and they helped us craft a private safari through Tanzania—one of the most rewarding and awe-inspiring experiences of our lives!

From September 18–29, we journeyed from the Mara River in Northern Serengeti down to the sun-baked plains of southern Tarangire National Park.

The photo galleries you’ll be perusing reflect not just the incredible animals we encountered, but the profound beauty and emotion we felt each day. We hope you enjoy walking through this part of the world with us.

We also took a few days to relax at the Beaches resort in Zanzibar after our long safari trip!

This was the trip of a lifetime.

Enjoy the photos!
