Hi Everyone, we are back from our month-long UK and Ireland vacation!
We actually arrived home on the 13th of October, but we’ve been laying low, sick, and are now in recovery mode. Lisa has tested positive for Covid, but is feeling better. I was quite sick in Scotland and Ireland, no doubt with Covid, but I didn’t test, so like everyone else on our tour who was sick, assumed it was just a bad cold. Wrong! I also got tested at home, but it was negative. I still have residual congestion/cough I can’t seem to get rid of, although I do believe it is gradually getting better. My back and side are still hurting some from a coughing fit I had in Ireland. It was so bad, I think I may have cracked a rib. I got a chance to try out the Irish healthcare system, which was very interesting. We lost three couples I believe from our tour who all went home early, sick with “colds.”. Yeah, right.
I did my best to suck it up and so not spoil our trip for my wife and our good friends, Mike and Denise, who were traveling with us. They got sick, too, of course, but handled it well. Sadly, Mike tested positive for Covid too, upon his return, but is now testing negative.
But enough talk about being sick on the trip! I will only talk about this again if and when it seems pertinent to the story I am telling.
I am currently working on our photos. This is the first time I have traveled without my Canon SX 60 camera, relying instead on my Samsung S21 Ultra phone. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but it appears I may have had some luck with a few shots, at least.
As I make progress I will start posting about our trip, which began in England and included Scotland, North Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland. So, please stay tuned! There is much to talk about!
