1991 & 2003 Scotland
A slideshow comprised of photos from two trips my wife and I took to Scotland, in 1991 and 2003. It includes photos of the Highlands, Edinburgh, Culloden, Glen Affric (Trossachs National Park), and our B&B.
2002 France
A self-driven tour of the Loire Valley! We visited ancient abbeys, Castle Blois, beautiful chateaus: Chambord, Chaumont, Chenonceau, Cheverny, Clos Luce (home of Leonardo da Vinci where he lived and died). And, of course, Paris, one of our favorite cities, which would be incomplete without paying homage to The Louvre!
2003 Ireland
Photos of our trip to Ireland to find my maternal Drake ancestors! We visited Northern Ireland where we fell in love with the misty Antrim Coast, met a Drake cousin, then drove across southern Ireland, visiting the haunting Connemara, lovely Galway, the Giant’s Causeway, the Cliffs of Moher and more, eventually settling into the town of Dingle, which was so beautiful!
2009 Italy
We spent five wonderful days in Rome and Florence. We then got in a car and drove through Tuscany where we stayed at an amazing agriturismo B&B. We visited the hilltowns of Radda in Chianti, San Gimignano, Volterra, Sienna, and Regello. Before flying home we returned to Rome where we had a unplanned encounter with Pope Benedict!
